Given the USA has no antimony production itself, I wouldn't be surprised if they would organise an exemption for a critical mineral that they desperately need to maintain their own military. After all, it's ultimately the US Govt. that is buying it, not your average consumer.
Trump is trying to protect US manufacturers with tariffs, but there aren't any to protect (for antimony) in USA currently.
So a tariff on antimony doesn't make much sense.
