Phones, computers, TV's, electronics, all often made entirely overseas, often in your own country, by US companies such as Apple, are already going to go up a good 20-40% on the rekindling of the Emergency Tariff Act in 1921, followed a year later by the Fordney-McCumber Tariff Act of 1922 that prolonged and deepened the Great Depressions. If you can force US consumer prices up a bit more, the idiot voters will quickly grow tired of the extra $5,000 or so to household spending and Republicans, tired of losing investment money and fearful of losing their seats, will cross the aisle to repeal this crap.
