The SBB is a fraction of overall volume but not net value change over that time period. The SBB is by far largest net buyer (as a collective group)
Yes you are correct there is no way to prove what muzza said. I suppose he is just speculating, we'll find out of Monday whether the SBB was active or not

If the aim of the game was to keep the price low to make low ball offer more palatable then it would be easier or more difficult to drive the share price lower without the SBB. UBS has net sold about $45m shares (on behalf of their clients or groups) in the last 6 months alone. Do you think the share price would be higher or lower if we had not spent the $28m~ so far buying back shares? It is illogical to suggest anything else. "The SP went up when the buy back was stalled" - correlation does not equal causation. You've told me that before!

The buyback is only $50m and it makes no difference to the survival of the company, to think otherwise you would be implying our CEO and board are totally incompetent and can't forecast cashflow.
