@ppm56
Please, I sincerely ask you—stop lying about the distortion of the Ten Commandments. You've repeatedly claimed that the Roman Catholic Church’s version is the same as the original biblical commandments, but that is a blatantly deceptive claim. I'm not sure why you continue repeating this, but it's simply not true.
Get a copy of the original King James Version (KJV) and read Exodus 20 for yourself. Then compare it with the Ten Commandments as listed in the Roman Catholic Catechism. Here's what you’ll see—clear as day:
This isn’t a small matter. These are the commandments written by the finger of YHWH (Exodus 31:18). No church, no pope, no man has the authority to edit, shorten, remove, or twist them. Yet the RCC has done exactly that.
- The 2nd Commandment about graven images and bowing to them has been completely removed by the RCC.
- The 4th Commandment, which clearly states “the seventh day is the Sabbath”, has been shortened to simply “Keep holy the Lord’s Day”, which they apply to Sunday, not the seventh day.
- To keep the list at ten after removing the 2nd, the RCC split the 10th Commandment into two parts about coveting.
So again, I ask respectfully: stop saying they're the same, because any honest comparison shows they are not. And if your Church altered what God Himself wrote, then that should deeply concern you.
Here is a direct comparison between the full King James Version (KJV) Ten Commandments and the Roman Catholic Catechism version:
As you can see, the Catholic version removes the second commandment entirely about graven images and splits the 10th commandment to maintain ten in total. This alteration plays a major role in doctrinal confusion and violates the integrity of YHWH’s own words as written in Scripture.
KJV Ten Commandments RCC Ten Commandments 1 1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange gods before me. 2 2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Exodus 20:4–6 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 3 3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exodus 20:7 3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day. 4 4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exodus 20:8–11 4. Honour your father and your mother. 5 5. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:12 5. You shall not kill. 6 6. Thou shalt not kill. Exodus 20:13 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14 7. You shall not steal. 8 8. Thou shalt not steal. Exodus 20:15 8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 9 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Exodus 20:16 9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. 10 10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. Exodus 20:17 10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.
Key Takeaways:
- The 2nd Commandment (against graven images) is completely removed in the Catholic version — despite God’s explicit warning in Exodus 20:4–6.
- The 4th Commandment (about the 7th-day Sabbath) is reworded to justify Sunday worship, which no verse in Scripture supports as a replacement for the Sabbath.
- The 10th Commandment is split in two to maintain the number ten, compensating for the omitted 2nd.
This again is not opinion, or "RCC proper ganger", this is literal facts. NO more lying about this please, at least man up and admit that you put the RCC over YHWHs own written law. Please stop lying about something so important.
Matthew 5:19 (KJV)
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
This is Yeshua speaking directly, affirming that anyone who breaks and teaches others to disregard even the least of the commandments will be called least in the kingdom—a sobering warning against undermining the law of YHWH.
Read this post again PPM, let it truly sink in and stop being blatantly ignorant on this very subject, stop distorting the truth and literally teaching others a blatant out right lie. RCC has distorted YHWHs own hand written law, biblical fact.
