Such an issue, even tho it never came to pass, would be more brutal in the current climate especially for CBA, ANZ affected by a toxic risk culture scandal and NAB under the weight of regulatory fines, fraud cases going through the Courts and numerous scams on outdated technology that the bank uses.
And of course you had Westpac which has a money laundering scandal that almost sent Westpac bust, lost $40 billion in Westpac's market value and a record fine at the time of $1.3 billion Federal Court imposed penalty.
