And business can only claim what gst they pay on expenses against what they include on goods or services they provide. My business pays gst on inputs (invoices received from suppliers) and includes gst on outputs (invoices sent to clients)
But back to the levy. What do you propose we do in 2012, when we have another set of disaster? Have another temporary levy? This is naive and short-sigthed.
Australia is a land of droughts, floods, cyclones and bushfires. We need a permanent disaster fund. Hence my proposal to increase the gst from 10% to 11% to establish a permament fund of $4-5 billion dollars.
