Thats the thing that concerns me is the lack of buying. If shorts cover now and there's still no solid recovery post FDA meeting, the lack of buying will embolden the shorts to start new bets and keep the price low after which they can churn it out for months until material news drops that could influence the price back up to respectable levels.
As I mentioned last week the problem is the lag between trofinetide and 2591 approval/takeover, certainly good financial metrics doesn't seem to count for anything at the moment. It's a waiting game for the shorts, they can make money on the spread no matter how thin it is if they have all the time in the world (in addition to scooping up loose shares along the way).
