Can we please have sensible discussion and not party politicals.

I have argued for a modest increase in the gst to 11% which would provide a permanent disaster fund of $4-5 billion dollars per year.

We are likely to have disasters of some form every year, as we have had in the past.

That is why I argued that a temporary levy is naive and short-sighted.

And if perchance we do't need the $4-5 billion one year, it can be (at least in part) used to fund green research projects.
