I am only in my early 30's, but I have noticed that my generation and especially the generations below me have had it very easy throughout their life. They have always been guaranteed a job, and generally they have wealthy parents and grandparents who have done well out of the property boom, so they are well looked after until adulthood. Australians are everywhere overseas, so clearly, they have the funds to travel even if the AUD is horrid.

As hard as a depression would be, it may actually wake people up, harden the younger kids up, destroy the wokeness culture and change Australian culture for the better. We have become selfish and too focused on money. Everyone is out to get as many investment properties as possible and they will rip off their fellow Aussies to make it happen. A roof over your head should not be money orientated. Everyone should be able to afford it. Now I am about as right as they come and vote One Nation and smaller independent parties because I see both major parties as a Uniparty and how the immigration explosion in Australia is killing the country. However, I am awake to the reality of life and understand it is not all rosy like it has been in the past 30-40 years. Working in the mining sector for around 15 years, its cyclical so I have already been laid off twice in my career and unemployed, one due to the Covid Vaccine mandates when I decided not to take it. There are not many younger folks like me walking around who have actually had challenges in their lives apart from dating issues and it may take something as serious as the current recession / potential depression to make people change for the better IMO.
