Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is facing an audit from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), an independent investigative agency for Congress.
The probe has been ongoing since March and covers DOGE’s data-handling practices at government agencies such as the Departments of Labor, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services, Education, the Treasury, and Social Security.
The GAO is reportedly requesting comprehensive details from these Cabinet-level agencies, including incident reports on “potential or actual misuse of agency systems or data”, among other information."
