I also topped up at 56c ( also topped up at 56.5, 57 and 58c) this past week or so. I'm sticking with my assumption we have a seller ( starting from 60c) that needs to urgently sell to raise funds due some external situation that affects them). I have been watching closely the day by day and hour by hour price/volume/ bot activity, buy/sell price gaps that open up then close, etc It seems to me like a single entity trying to unload a decent size parcel via a broker controlling the bots plus using the usual methods such as dump a parcel, then pull back, wait for the buy queue to build up, then dump again into it. Classical behavior. If the seller is one of the substantial shareholders we should see a notice soon, assuming they actually comply diligently with the regulations. The company has made no announcement regarding the volume/share price movement, not that they are required to admittedly. But you can bet they know who it is, having access to the share registry. So I assume the business is tracking along steadily and what we have is a selling entity that needs some $$$ pronto for any variety of reasons. Could be a fund/insto or private investor . Wondering out loud here whether the Lederer Group might step in for a top up, given they took a sizable equity position at 60c late-ish last year (they bought out ENN/s shareholdings in ECF).
It all reminds me of another ASX company I am invested in, with a steady and excellent divvy yield, that took a sudden plunge in the share price last year for no apparent reason, ..... later we find out that that is was due to a fund having to liquidate its portfolio. I topped up at the depressed price, once that fund's holdings were absorbed in the market, the stock rebounded to its previous level and this remains the case.
