Conclusion

This demonstration project shows how the partners can process pre-consumer magnet scrap
into high-quality rare earth oxides, then into metals/alloys, and finally into permanent magnets
with the same performance characteristics as those made from virgin materials.

Further process with FORD validates Ionic Technologies' ability to create a sovereign UK rare
earth supply chain, with enough capacity from just 21 tonnes of recycled magnets to support
over 55,000 electric vehicles. This project will be complete in a few months time.
The success of this process will support the planned 400 tpa Commercial facility, which
would multiply this output significantly.
