Riley made no characterisation with regard to Abbott's insensitivity to a fallen soldier or any other matter. He allowed the footage to speak for itself so the viewer could make the judgement. Nor did Riley show the footage out of context as Abbott falsely asserted: He showed him an extended piece of footage which gave Abbott's remarks their correct context. The only question Riley asked in the exchange was in response to Abbott's assertion that the footage was out of context when he asked Abbott in what context his comments were made. Abbott's response was to stare silently at him and start shaking. The other falsehood the Libs have been asserting with regard to the footage was that Abbott was ambushed. Abbott had been fighting to suppress the footage for 3 months and went to a meeting that he had arranged with Riley at 2&1/2 hours notice. That is not an ambush. When politicians fight to suppress footage any decent journalist would show the footage so the public can make up their minds. That's what Riley did. In context and without an ambush.
