Funny you bring that up Lux - not sure how old you are but I am old enough to remember when the first Japanese gods came to Australia.
In fact their firt cars were garbage and Japan ceased to export cars for two years until they got their quality controls in place. Everyone thought Japanese goods were inferior and now they are known for their quality.
Chinese stuff has also improved in quality which i why they are now wanted in the market place. I have an ordinary electric kettle, and it has never missed a beat for 10 years. Prior to that, they barely lasted the 1 year warranty period.
Chines tuff is better than US stuff these days - US quality control for cars is well known to be down and US TV's are pure crap for example.
Given that Boeing 737's just fall out of the sky - maybe "made in China" would be better
