    Hi Davomagic

Re; ".... Some don't see the social dynamic globally could flip on its head within the next 100 years due to the information age as the power structures are being revealed one by one.
Assange is a threat to some of the powerful and will be treated accordingly probably.
In 100 years or longer Assange may be seen as a pioneer like Mandela for social freedom!!! No-one , in history can run from the truth!! ..."

IMO you have hit the nail on the head here!

People painted as terrorists can later be seen as heroes and history is witness that countries like Nazi Germany and Japan have evolved into world powerhouses for global peace and prosperity. Of course that didn't just happen; high ethical and moral expectations, vision, persuasion, planning, education, tolerance, innovation, resourcing etc. were required.

IMO that is also the case for the current crop of 'developing' and 'undeveloped' countries - they cannot do it all by themselves and IMO we have to place our trust in their people and offer them a fair dinkum hand up.

As an eternal optimist and believer that the great majority of people are decent and well-meaning I am not afraid of the future. As a retired chalkie I have confidence in our young people and love the emerging opportunities constructive innovation is bringing.

Nor am I a 'controller' - though I readily admit to demanding that our politicians paint their future vision for us to explore and evaluate. Hence my frustration and despair with both Gillard and Abbott - plus their blinkered colleagues of course.
