The now collapsed AGW scam is certainly dis-credited.
More likely that you have just not been keeping up with current events.
There is a central small core of a few conspiring scientists who have been pushing this AGW agenda, more a political than scientific agenda, and of course receiving funding to push the agenda by:
- politicians who see it as a means to an end for easy massive cash-flow from taxpayers who can be coerced to pay by "end-of'the-world" greenie scare stories
- socialists and greenies who see it as a quick way to deconstruct western society and force the remnants to accept their leadership and control. It will also incidentally allow these socialists and greenies to coerce developing countries with no bargaining power into development "dead-ends" of an energy/water/food restricted future
- media whose main ethos is "if it bleeds it leads" and never turn down a good scare or scandal headline
- conmen like algore who know a good scam when they see one. Carbon trading at algore's partly owned CCX (carbon trading exchange) was planned to be $10 trillion/year in 10 years. Calculate a small percentage of that as commission and see what range of numbers you get...
- large energy producers and polluters aho will be biggest beneficieries as they will just pass costs onto the final consumer with a significant markup and will be able to increase prices across the board by created shortages (think deBears and diamonds applied to electricity, oil, food and water)
- large mulinationals in all industries who will simply re-locate the remaining of the "carbon_producing" business sector to china or india that are refusing to be regulated.
Many of the larger number of scientists you mention merely attended a conference, did not necessarily agree with anything presented, but had their names included as in 100% agreement. A sure sign of a scam in progress...
