All I can say is I queried the BOM over their climate change postings.
They sent me a whole stack of charts and data.
I wrote back to them with the specific question about heat island effects as that was a major worry for me.
They replied as I have stated, that the data they use for long term temperature change, both air and sea, is away from population and landscape change.
