Samscout - your earlier post about how rigged the stock market is begs the question - why do you participate? Why not put your investment dollars to work in some sphere of investment where there's a level playing field?
As for a "cabal" of superfunds and insto's controlling things, I'd argue instead that they're competing fiercely against each other, and that they're all as keen to take money off each other as they are to take money off the likes of you and me.
There seem to be quite a few HotCopper posters who continue to suggest that the share-price of VAU is being held down by some mysterious group or groups. Rather than rue this and hold on to VAU shares, why not simply invest in the stocks where this mysterious group or groups is artificially inflating the share-price.
