FWIW, there are several example of narrow high-grade Abitibi deposits really coming on-line, WRT grade, at depth.

LOL, it may be that we only hear of the ones that did. But, in any case, these come to mind:

    1) Wesdome's Eagle mine, which is just to the SW of the Sugar Zone, particularly Eagle's 300 Zone. (15.3 g/t overall mine reserve grade)

    2) Agnico/Kirkland Lake's Macassa, to the NE in Kirkland Lake (16.3 g/yt overall mine reserve grade)

    3) Wesdome's Kiena Deeps (most notable example), in Val d'Or (11.1 g.t overall mine reserve grade, but Kiena Deeps is 20+ if memory serves)

I'm not as familiar with the Island Mine, Sugar Zone's nearest neighbor, just to the east. It's currently at 11.4 g/t reserve grade, but they have a large chunk "Island East" as they drill deep, that is 1.9 million ounces inferred grading 20.8 g/t. Slide 18 here: https://s24.q4cdn.com/779615370/files/doc_presentations/2025/02/Alamos-Gold-Corporate-Presentation-_Feb-2025_Final.pdf

The above are the obvious examples, as they are the highest reserve grade mines in Canada. Some of the other mines of Kirkland Lake, just a few hundreds of meters east of Macassa, ran 18 g/t nearly from the surface, but the currently operating mines, 1-3 above, got rich at depth.

Again, one probably does not hear about the flops LOL. I'm not an expert, do your own DD.
