I keep reading variations of this same point over and over. "I bought way back when it was cheap and I'm ahead so I'll never sell". That's nonsensical, sorry. What you bought it for is irrelevant. It's its price today versus its price tomorrow. If it drops 20%, you're not saving on capital gains tax; you're losing money.
