Solar energy was in its infancy in the 70's. Panels would have been very expensive. But even then they were used in remote locations... why was that?
You seem to really hate solar energy Hanrahan. You are the solar energy Grinch, perhaps? Maybe you need a coal mine next door and a coal-fired power station on your roof, you seem to like the traditional forms of generation so much.
