Skint, I'm glad that your memories of Tehran are that of a peaceful place, but not everyone was lucky. An old Iranian once told me horrific stories about the Savak, the Shah's secret police, and their arresting and torturing people for even just reading prohibited literature. They were very much feared by the people. i'm glad you never run foul of them, mate.
