    The government seems to be heavily promoting that over 10% of GDP is coming from the minerals sector. This is important in an election year and I think this drives the ministry to push companies with SML to develop or lose their assets. The mining law of Tanzania states that once an SML has been granted the company has 18 months to develop the project unless it is especially complex in nature.
