The people seem to think democracy is a magic bullet that will give them all good jobs, more money, low prices, and a lifestyle like in the West. Unfortunately, when the population is large and the economy is weak democracy is more likely to result in less control, more debt, more crime, increased poverty and more corruption. I wonder how much control there would be if the US was not paying for it?
