the reality is - regardless whether the "pattern" is expected or not - very few ASX200 companies has the volatility of a SP like NEU.
Being 3% down - or more - on any given day for someone's portfolio (even if on paper) can impact potential investors regarding their strategies, such as margin calls and stop losses.
My concern is the longer these games - and IMO they are indeed games - continue, the more investors will desert or ignore the company for more stable stocks.
Noone is arguing the potential for this company - however IMO its the volatility of the SP which is (and will continue to) keep solid investors away from this stock....and even worse some investors will lose patience and leave.
Me personally, I will wait as my investment timeline is minimum another 5 years. However, anyone short term would be crazy to look at this stock due to SP volatility.
