You can't say that he hasn't been instrumental in driving a paradigm shift in the automotive space + others.
If we were to weigh as persons contributions to industry only then he would remain reverent.
But, as human's we also have a duty to ascribe weight to a person's character and given his disproportionate influence on society the effect those characteristics advantage or disadvantage society and to what extent. It has nothing to do with being left, it is simply an assessment of normal behaviour.
His behaviour on Twitter (X) is abysmal, petulant, self righteous, repugnant, childish.
He's constantly lied to investors, mislead then with elements of his strategy but also with regard to having a Saudi buyer for Telsa, which has caused significant loss to shareholders. Shareholders have obviously benefited, but there's an immoral approach to business that shouldn't be accepted as normal.
His DOGE behaviour has been as bad. The numbers touted before his assignment have not materialized and in fact there have zero veracity given Congress who own the purse strings have not been able to validate the benefit. Oddly, the Dept of Defense which has failed 7 audits were not targeted, instead have had their budget increased by 1 Trillion dollars (subject to approvals) - surely not a coincidence that a significant amount of his company's revenue comes from defense.
He did however target the very little money that is tactically given to African countries for food, vaccines, etc. Apart from this being a deeply empathetic and socially responsible spend, it also helps keep other geopolitical competitors out.
His behaviour at the Inauguration was appalling, and aligned to his Grand Father who immigrated to South Africa because he was a very fond advocate of apartheid policies. If that is not evil, then nothing is.
Society is more than money and winning at all costs and so this is personally the reason I think he should be repelled!
