not really Lithium extraction from Salar brines is not hard and the best in the industry Sunresin Lanshen even Vulcan can do it easily using alumina/Titanium/Manganese based adsorption media “the problem” is a reliable source of fresh water and energy infrastructure is required .
So PNN LKE and others have no water but they have brine again easy resolved build an RO plant in addition to a DLE plant but the cost is high so they dabble in “new technologies” to circumvent the water issues from memory Lilac and Summit both use solvents instead of water .
After the water hurdle comes the infrastructure issue it’s why I’ve resisted the urge to look at any of these plays .
