People in gold mining stocks have not done as well because the cost of inflation and increasing scarcity creates extra costs to find and produce. If inflation continues to rise like it surely will but gold slows down in price appreciation, that can hurt the miners like what happened in the earlier parts of 2020's, costs went up heaps and the gold miners fell over because costs went up more than the gold price.
