The “shorters are bad” - “speculators are good” argument runs hard for a lot of people.
It’s as if you should only be able to invest if it’s picking the winning horse. How dare someone profit by doing the opposite.
I feel like all the people that come on here to say “sucked in” because at one point their cherished company was shorted - need to reassess the situation.
Yes, the Opthea debacle finally gave you a podium to speak from, but please - it’s tiresome.
Shorting is a necessary check on unbridled speculation.
You may remember the GFC - case in point.
I sincerely hope Regal smash it out of the park form here - just to put a muzzle back on the “shorting is bad” brigade.
