My first point is that there is a difference to writing off an asset/share and then for this asset to be sold at $0 value. This cannot be done without your approval unless you have signed over your authority to the Super Fund. The second point is to check with COMPUTERSHARE Investor Services (ph: 1300 557 010) to see whether there is a CHESS HOLDING STATEMENT registered against your Name or the Name of your Managed Fund for AVZ Minerals Limited. You should also contact AVZ Minerals Limited to verify if they have a Holding Statement with your name registered. I know friends of mine never moved their Holdings to the Automic Share Registry (having done so just recently) and their shares were showing with AVZ Minerals Limited. If your shares were sold or transferred you will be told when this was done and who authorised this. The dilemma you may be going to have when you rediscover them is how to treat them for Taxation purposes given your Super Fund has written the asset off. The outcome is most likely to be a better for you in the near future regardless of any tax implications.
