I wouldn't have minded Me73 if they had just got back to me and said , look we don't know or we can't say it is commercial in confidence?

The reason why I asked the question in the first place was that I was looking into buying some panels myself as a shareholder, but I was concerned that the panels they produce today may end up in the very near future being about 20% less efficient or perhaps even less than that figure compared to the than the ones that are coming soon, I was also led to believe that the ones the discount applied to were old stock,

I was weighing whether to buy now or wait for the newer more efficient panels to come
i.e. the ones that were developed by Silex Suntech and the UNSW where they say they can possibly reach 25% efficiency, the ones that I suspect Suntech will be making very soon, and possibly Suntech may be the supplier to Silex of the raw materials for the cells they will be using.

There is also another possibility in the future, one where they could possibly use the Translucent SOI triple junction panel based on the Spectrolabs (Boeing) technology but made a hell of a lot cheaper using epitaxial growth methods,whether they will be cheap enough for rooftop installations will be the question? they talk of 50% efficiency and perhaps more, quite a bit more perhaps with the use of Translucents up/down conversion with its clear (translucent) panel which is placed on top of the tripple junction SOI Panel, they may also be able to use their DBR on top of that as well, not sure where this would take them as far as efficiency levels go? no wonder why Suntech wanted in on this technology!

If it ever comes off it will be a true paradigm shift in solar, I just hope I live long enough to see it!
