The Coalition was consistently ahead of Labor on the 2pp only 4 months ago, yet the Lefties are crowing that the conservatives are finished in this country.
The country's problems are little changed from what they were 4 months ago, for heaven's sake. The only things that have changed are that Albo's crowd played a very steady hand while the LNP were all over the sh*t shop; a couple of economic breaks went their way in the form of falling interest rates and falling inflation; and Trump went fully Trump.
Under the circumstances, Labor could not have played it any better. Under the circumstances, the Coalition couldn't have played it any worse.
A lot of new challenges will be faced by both the gov't and the opposition between now and 2028.....but even a week is a long time in politics.
