I've never fallen for the belief that governments gain power entirely through lying. The electorate's not that gullible. We also had that weak complaint about the referendum loss.
A new leader will help only insofar that he/she can articulate policy in a more convincing manner. A leader has to be confident, engaging, and look the part. But the Libs MUST have decent policies that appeal to disaffected voters and actually help those in need. Young voters who see a yawning gap in living standards compared to previous generations, for starters.
