Self taught from years of watching and learning pattern sequences, no quick trick or book that will make you a successful trader overnight. Learn to read and understand 1 indicator at a time, and be really proficient in understanding them in macro positive/negative market cycle sequences. learn elliot wave theory, dont have to be a stickler for the rules but understand markets move in waves, which relates to surfing quite closely. Understand markets move in cycles, being a 18.6 year cycle tied to the MLS lunar orbit, understand the “rule of 3”, learn TD sequential counts, which used on higher TF can align with macro cycles also. I have a heap of research ive done which goes alot more into cycles than main stream traders have looked at. Gann, Wyckoff, Tom Demark, etc all see patterns in the market from different angles. I just see a pattern sequence in my own format ive been developing and learning. Watch and review the whole market cycle of an asset, watching something like BTC can teach you alot about cycles as you are watching a cycle move in a much higher beta as it trades 24/7, therefore see it go through cycles and macro waves in years not decades, the same patterns are true for all stocks, when a stock is listed and the beta it moves at makes a difference, also when a stock is listed in a macro cycle, eg DRO has been listed toward the end of a macro cycle. As the saying goes history never repeats but often rhymes, the same applies for pattern sequences. Variations can occur, but the overall sequence will still be the same, just learn that there can be variations. Always be open to short term volatility in PA either way, eg when gaps are left. Dont fall into a trap of using a stack of indicators, as you will end up with competing signals, better to really understand 1-3 indicators.
