I was going to leave it with my apology for a poor choice of words but you have verballed me a number of times since.

Don't bother replying because I won't reply to you again. However I will address some of your nonsense..

A billionaire is someone who has amassed 1000 billion dollars in assets. I don't think that most contributors to Hot Copper will ever have the kind of capital that it would take to accumulate a billion dollars in profits from investing or trading in share markets.

So this statement is obviously absurd and is little more than a personal attack but it is not relevant to whether or not TA is a useful tool in decisions to buy or sell something.

Technical Analysis

There is some sophisticated stuff out there but at its simplest TA looks at retracements and the principles of support and resistance based on price and volume.

There are many examples in heavily traded stocks, eg banks, telstra etc where you can identify a trading range in a 5 year chart for example. If you simply only buy in the bottom 25% of that range and sell in the top 25% of that range you will create multiple opportunities to trade profitably and there will be plenty of opportunities to do this across a large range of stocks.

Anyone who does this over a 20 year period will be able to accumulate millions of dollars in profits.

So to dismiss TA is ill informed

KCN was not a TA buy but basically a punt and "close your eyes and hope" situation where many external events were in play
and a successful result was by no means certain. So many of us bought around 20 cents to either enter or average down and what is happening now is great.

So no genius needed - just a well informed strategy and a bit of luck can help.
