Hoping someone with medical knowledge can help me understand the announcement a bit more. Please don't use the desire for understanding to belittle the announcement because the bottom line is the announcement opens up the possibility of future new markets for Novasorb and that's got to be a positive.
Google says Type 1 diabetes is diagnosed if HbA1c levels are higher than 6.5% or 7% (varies depending upon source - also reported as mmol/l) and C peptide levels are typically low because the body is producing little to no insulin.
In the study it's a plus that 2 of the 3 patients were c-peptide positive at 3 months. I assume the HbA1c reductions refer to reductions in the % (e.g. from say 7% to 5.2 for a 1.8% reduction after 12 months rather than a reduction of 1.8% of 7?) , but why does the table show insulin reduction when the aim is to produce insulin?
