I am Melbourne based, but lived in wa for long time. Use small local accounting firm, well recommended by friend.

Prefer not to disclose my email over the forum, but if you care to give yours, then I will send some more info.

For fast return you need to have all documentation prepared (including scanned copies of bank stmts, dividends and share buy/sell notices) beforehand and email to accountant by end of June. I use Commsec and CBA so all share infor is complete as soon as last dividend is received - depends on what shares, but for me some time in May (as no property trusts). CBA internet banking credits interest monthly on 1st month, so this does not hold things up. Limiting factor is you need closing share prices eod 30th June. The accountant is glad to have the return early, as generally slack time waiting for work to roll in.

well almost ... Thank god for SMSFs where you can bypass all the financial vultures out there. At least you don't have to pay someone else to lose your money.
