That strongly implies the data is being used in a misleading way — which, whether intentional or not, casts doubt on the integrity of the parties involved.

So yes, by questioning the credibility of the results and suggesting they were released purely to raise funds — despite being generated by MD Anderson and led by Dr Maiti, a respected haematologist — you are indirectly implying that they’ve allowed their names and reputations to be used in a way that lacks scientific integrity. That’s not a light accusation, even if it's couched in speculation.

As for the timing — it’s actually not unusual for biotech companies to publish interim data from Phase 1B studies, especially when early signs of efficacy are observed in a difficult-to-treat population. These kinds of updates are both expected and appropriate, provided they’re transparent about the limited sample size and context — which this one was.

The fact that Dr Maiti didn’t issue a personal comment in the media release doesn’t mean there’s something “strange” going on. Investigators often communicate through trial data and institutional channels rather than individual commentary, especially in early-stage studies.

Let’s just be careful not to confuse healthy skepticism with misplaced doubt in a reputable clinical process and respected individuals.

Do I call into question COH's credibility? Absolutely not.

Am I suggesting what's unfolded is cause for concern regarding CHM's credibility? Absolutely.

Effectively a one liner about two patients partially responding to SOC treatment, while still receiving said treatment, and after spending longer in a trading pause than in a trading halt there's rumours of a CR floating around this site on the very same day...

ALARM BELLS.
