Further to what hags has said - yes there was an ignition detected in the lw goaf - and the preferred option is to drive another face road and move the LW and seal the goaf - this is not easy you seal a goaf and it goes through the explosive zone before it becomes inert. - keeping Nitrogen in the goaf whilst pulling off a LW is risky and there is a case for continuing to mine knowing there is high CO in the goaf - the inspectorate are not going to allow to stray from Risk - As Low As Reasonably Practable - this is seal the panel and lose the LW - a massive Joy 4m high 300m wide multi million dollar LW - my guess they will try their hardest to get this LW off - they have too much to lose
