AUST today:
NEW HOPE TO TRUCK COAL 200KM TO PORT
New Hope has been forced to downgrade guidance for the contentious New Acland mine because it can’t get enough coal on rail to keep up with production.
The rail bottleneck comes just months after New Hope triumphed in an 18-year battle to secure final approvals for stage 3 of the mine.
New Hope is now considering trucking coal almost 200km via road from New Acland to its Queensland bulk handling facilities at the Port of Brisbane.
