New Fed Enviro Minister Murray Watt in West to discuss 'Nature positive' legislation and the NW gas project has me a tad nervous.
It would be TOTALLY like Fed Labor to approve a 40 year extension on the massive offshore gas project, but throw a minnow like VRX to the wolves to shore up their enviro PR. Labor (and Libs) have bowed to the gas cartel 99% of the time and we as a country have lost tens of billions as a result from lost royalties. I can't see that changing now. I can see them dentying a sand mine in front of pictures of cockatoos to deflect from their gas decision though.
Maybe they'll change with the new term IDK. Wouldn't mind a decision to extend the gas project as long as the Aus gov is given a 40% free carried share in it. Then see if they still want it. I'm betting they would, and our National Fund would be better off to the tune of billions.
