Haha this is fascinating and truly Orwellian @elixer8
We are certainly living in a dystopian bizzaro world ...
The title itself is a classic!
"Gold Could Trigger the Next Financial Crisis--ECB Sounds the Alarm"
These guys build a system, (a house of cards), upon paper money ...
they invent socialist programs and kill off incentive to create wealth,
whilst printing up immense mountains of unpayable debts to fund an obscene bureaucracy and a privileged government class,
buying votes with mountains of printed up monopoly money ...
and landing us in a complete monetary and social debacle ...
and then they warn people that GOLD will likely be responsible for the ensuing crisis!!!!!
They say ... GOLD "is now on the radar of the European Central Bank as a possible threat to financial stability."
OMG it is on their radar! This is the threat!
You couldn't make this stuff up.
Gold.
"... often praised as a safe haven, could become a financial landmine ... "
WHAT???? My gold just sits there ... doesn't seem like it could explode ... it pretty much just sits there ...
"A dangerous mix of concentrated trading, leveraged bets, and opaque over-the-counter deals."
This is gold they are talking about??
No other market contains such things?
Just the gold market ... ?
I presume they really meant to say ...
OOPS ... the powers that be are all criminally naked short to try to suppress the price ... and the price won't stop going up?
There is so much 'comedy gold' in this article. Thick, thick veins of it. But I particularly like this one ...
"A hidden storm is brewing in the gold market, and central bankers are starting to panic."
The financial system is already broken ... Gold is not the cause ... It is the ANSWER.
