The expansion is necessary for WDS to stay competitive and relevant on a global scale. Qatar is moving rapidly to forged buyers in Asian markets, their gas is relatively cheaper than Australia and comes without the geopolitics associated with environmental groups. If you viewed the latest Qatar economic forum recently, Qatar Energy Minister discussed increasing shipping fleets from 70 to an additional 158, LNG volumes increasing from 10 mmt to 60mmt by 2030. To put it mildly, Qatar is moving forward at an incredible rate.
The recent MOU signed with Aramco is huge. 34 heads of US major corporations and Meg got a seat at that table alongside blackrock etc… Aramco is diversifying into LNG in a major way and has decided to partner with WDS. Think about that!
Aramco is expecting buy into the Texas OCI that is scheduled to be operational in late 25, unless WDS f$*k it up. Louisanna will likely happen. Contracts take a while to manifest when billions are negotiated. Your view as a shareholder should be focused towards 2030.The share price could sit anywhere and eventually Aramco may end up pressuring WDS to either offload US assets or acquire a greater percentage by purchasing stonepeaks share.
The market is so focused on NWS, they haven’t factored this achievement under Meg’s leadership. Coleman achieved Nil, collected his yearly share allocation. Meg acquired BHP assets that allowed WDS to expand, negotiated with Chevron and looks set to partner with the biggest Oil conglomerate in the world.
Suggest all holders view the Qatar Economic Forum 25 online with Qatar energy minister. The figures represented match WDS projections . LNG is vital in achieving net zero.
