when you speak of our environment - are you including our tools and our toolmaking abilities?
humans are very different to other observable species --------- in our vast use of tools
we 'look' as if we are the most advanced
(we may not be, there may be a species or so on earth which is more advanced, yet doesn't either use technology or has chosen to use a very limited tool kit, and remain - out of sight - it's 'possible')
but, let's go with what we see ---------- we have changed out 'environment' - because of our toolmaking abilities ---
so, would we include our 'tools' ----- our bulldozers, our ships, our computers - as part of our environment - or as tools with which we shape our environment ----- our farms, our houses, our roads, bridges etc.
It might seem like a picky and red wine discussion point ----------- BUT, we're right now - already beginning and will be perhaps totally soon -
in a completely different era - where we do NOT make the tools ---------- machines and non human intelligence makes them - and that's a whole different kettle of fish.
Note an example - that Sir Joni Ive ---------- designer extraordinaire - is heading a mob who are intending on designing AI based tools - which they believe will replace our computers, phones and the like -
TOTALLY new tools ----- link ------------ next post
