The "latest view of the company" comes to us as official company announcements. Privileged phone calls or WhatsApp texts or other non-announcement interactions are not official views of where the company is. Even presentations are not the official view. Therefore, cynicism is justified as it reflects the indeterminance that characterizes the company's official condition right now.
What is crucial here is to realize that the cynics have constructed their view just as you have constructed yours. They are not somewhat mistaken or somewhat less knowledgeable than you. There is also no way of knowing what the real situation is with the company moving forward. We will only learn through official announcements. Anything else will remain an unofficial sideshow of what could be happening officially.
In my native language were have a phrase that when directly translated simply says: "Hope does not kill". I hope we are on to a winner! This hope cannot dismiss reservations that could turn out to be justified. However, since I am a stubborn fellow, I will proceed as if everything will work out fine.
