So we should ban beef imports because it doesn't have a label that meets our ridiculous requirements?
I would have thought we should only ban beef if theres a health issue rather than a label issue.
You go to America and eat beef you don't catch mad cow, that beef won't catch mad cow on the boat when it's dead, boned and boxed.
They are regulations mainly designed to limit trade not sensible health policy.
Ok, if theres a mad cow outbreak then it's sensible to ban the imports until the problem is solved but this is not the case.
To ban it due to labelling when theres no mad cow then it's designed to limit trade.
It's also Australia saying if you don't have the same level of communistic regulations that we have your not allowed to export your beef.
Bio regulations should be based on health, not labels and amounts of regualtions.
We are also way over-regulated in the domestic market and is a reason the cost of meat is so high, even butchers have to jump through stupid amounts of hoops, years ago they even wanted us to label every piece of meat hanging up in the cold room individually but we told them to gf and eventually they backed off.
They are trade restrictions disguised as health restrictions if you want the truth rather than a story. people eat the Beef that would be exported in America everyday, they don't get health problems from it, our rules are way over the top. Theres nothing wrong with their beef other than competition.
Anyway, i'm off for a while today, things to do, people to see, fun to have, i'll be back later on.
