That said the Bible is not wholly authentic and we can not be sure what is authentic and what the undiluted Words of Christ were. Clearly the Bible is truthful in substance but not every word is the sayings of Jesus or the disciples. Paul clearly made mistakes, one of his biggest was his proclamations on marriage when he praised those who did not marry and prophesied that sects would arise that would not marry. Such asceticism is superstition and has no spiritual, moral or ethical benefit. It is a contradiction of God given human nature and is therefore unChristian. It has been said that one's conduct should be that of Paul and one's faith should be that of Peter. Without Paul it is doubtful that Christianity would have become the dominant religion of the Western world. And even though we do not know how Paul died it seems clear that he dedicated his life to Jesus.
