That is not correct.

JPM and State Street do not do "what they want with the share price".

They simply conduct their business - they buy, they lend, they engage in short selling, etc. etc.

They do what they have always been doing, because that's their business, and NOT because they want to destroy Mesoblast share price.

The reason why the price goes down is quite simple: there is not enough buying to offset the selling. In other words, more are selling than buying.

Selling includes genuine selling and short selling. Buying includes genuine buying and short covering. You then have to add in options and warrants, etc. to the complex myriad of market factors that move market price but in the simplest term, it's demand and supply, not JPM and SS that set the price, or, using your terms "do what they want with the share price".

Having said that, please do warn us if you have a vast amount of money and has a secret agenda of driving the price down to 59 cents.

Isssue with short selling is there is no reverse.. should be a mechanism to buy without owning to balance the downward pressure it creates...basic logic means that there is more stock for sale.. real sellers + fake sellers vs real buyers.
