Christ is a Manifestation of God who knew His time was brief so marriage was not an option, nor was He setting an example, He was living a destiny.
The point being that Paul seems to suggest that there is some higher state to remaining unmarried. That there is something intrinsically beneficial in being unmarried. The truth is that it is an abnormal state and offers no higher spiritual path and has often led to perversions. Strict observance of chastity for an entire life for the sake of chastity itself as some kind of virtue is pure superstition. There are no rewards in heaven for depriving one's self of a life partner.
