The people you know did not write the Bible nor were given the role by Christ of Apostle AND Minister to the heathen/gentiles. I didn't write the Bible? Yep, a lot of the NT was written by Paul, who expressed his opinion about marriage and his contradictions of Jesus, and his creation of a second Gospel for the heathen/gentiles. Paul's teachings helped create the chasm that has resulted in the formation of many sects and denominations in Christianity and the suppression of women's rights and a limitation on their roles. What verses? Those who expressed Paul's view on marriage, those that made it clear that women should be silent at Christian gatherings, and those in which Paul was given a separate role to minister to the heathen/ gentiles.
